Brazil Comparative Law Info Session

Course Description: This course compares the environmental laws of the United States and Brazil. It meets once a week for two weeks of the spring semester, during which we study the respective environmental regimes of the U.S. and Brazil. The course aims to build students’ capacity to assess the environmental laws of both countries and to consider national policies concerning environmental quality.

Pace Law Portion:
Class Dates prior to spring break:


  • Two Fridays 2:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m.
  • Flight to Brazil will take place: Friday, March 27, 2026

Brazil Portion:


  • Students travel to Brazil over spring break 2026
    (Brazil portion occurs over 10 days.)
  • Participate in field trips to the crucial ecosystems of Brazil
  • Students will write a research paper comparing some aspect of the environmental laws in both Brazil and the U.S.

Cost:


  • Approximately $3,500

TBD (excluding non-covered meals, gratuities, and non-covered expenses.
